CONTACTS FROM THE SYSTEMIC CONSORTIUM AND SYTEMIC BIOGAS PLANTS

THE SYSTEMIC BIOGAS PLANTS

Find out where the SYSTEMIC biogas plants (Demo Plants, Outreach Locations and Associated Plants) are located and which technologies they have installed.

Would you like to contact or visit one of the SYSTEMIC biogas plants?

SUMMARIES OF LIVING LAB MEETINGS

In the SYSTEMIC project we have created our own definition of a Living Lab. A Living Lab in SYSTEMIC is a real life innovation environment where Demo Plants, Outreach Locations, Associated Plants and consortium members can learn from each other. The Living labs can also include other stakeholders like local farmers and industries, other research groups or interested projects.

Throughout the project, Living Lab meetings have been organised at physical events or online. Summaries of discussions between this unique group stakeholders are provided here.

REPORT: APPLICATION OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PACKAGE TO OUTREACH LOCATIONS

In the last part of the SYSTEMIC project, the BDP will be implemented all outreach locations. It will include information on their current business case, regional market for their current digestate-derived products and bottlenecks in digestate treatment and disposal. After application of the BDP, it will be able to describe different scenarios for NRR implementation and their feasibility and estimated impact on the current business case.

ADVICE PROVIDED BY THE CONSORTIUM TO THE SYSTEMIC BIOGAS PLANTS

The Outreach Locations and Associated Plants can ask the consortium questions related to nutrient recovery at any time. The consortium will then use their network to answer these questions in the best possible way.

  • -Outreach Location Waterleau New Energy asked more information on the marketing options of ammonia water after evaporation. VCM focussed in their market research in WP3 more on this topic and provide the OL the preliminary results on this topic.
  • -Outreach Location Biogas Bree is looking for ways to improve the (P-)separation of their digestate. SYSTEMIC looked if there were possiblities to include their separation as a test case in the research about the link between digestate characteristics and separation efficiency (PhD UGent).
  • -Outreach Location Biogas Bree is looking for more information about evaporation systems. VCM brought them in contact with AM-Power, Waterleau New Energy and IVVO, who have evaporation systems on their plant. Also VCM supplied a list of suppliers of evaporation systems and provided information about presentations given on the IBBK conference 2018 about evaporators.
  • -Outreach Location Bojana had a problem with their digester for which they invoked the advice of a consultant. They had some doubts about the given advice, and VCM reached out to their relevant contacts to validate this advice. Bojana also asked for suppliers of drying systems, for which VCM provided some contacts.
  • -Outreach Location Biogastur asked information about the legal status in other countries in Europe for mixing ashes from cellulose (from Eucalyptus for paper) with dried digestate. SYSTEMIC partner Proman provided them with the relevant legislation.
  • -Associated Plant Agman Inc. asked for information about which and how many nutrients could be recovered from digestate and which technologies are needed.
  • – Demo Plant Groot Zevert asked for any plants producing ammonium water by evaporation. With the start-up of the GENIUS process, their required target of 4% soluble nitrogen in the concentrate could not be achieved. To bridge this, they want to (temporarely) higher the concentration of nitrogen by adding recovered ammonium water. VCM provided the necessary contacts from plants involved in the SYSTEMIC project.
